Peter Lillo
Peter has been working in and with government, both in New Jersey and Washington, DC, for more than forty years. He began his public sector career with New Jersey Congresswoman Marge Roukema and was a key aide to Governor Thomas H. Kean, serving as the chief executive branch’s Business Manager where he oversaw appropriation issues for all state departments, authorities and commissions.
Peter was the Vice President of Government Relations for state and federal affairs for the New Jersey Hospital Association before transitioning to contract lobbying. A principal in the field for nearly two decades, Pete’s practice focuses principally on Medicaid healthcare policy where he represents a host of different associations and not-for profit organizations, many of which assist developmental and intellectually disabled individuals. He represents the NJ Association of Community Providers, the statewide organization that provides housing services for the developmental and intellectually disabled community. Through that work he has been able to get several laws passed to ensure greater security and oversight of those with DD and ID, as well as securing millions of dollars in funds for those who care for this community.
Peter ardently believes in public service and has served on many boards and commissions throughout his career, including as Chairman of the Board of the Save Ellis Island Foundation. He attended and received a double degree in History and Government from Manhattan College in Riverdale, NY.
