Gene is a founding principal at Capital Impact Group (CIG).

Gene is a founding principal at Capital Impact Group (CIG).  He specializes in developing government relations and grassroots advocacy programs in New Jersey and Washington, DC. He has successfully represented corporate, member association and not-for-profit organization clients before the New Jersey Legislature, Governor’s Office and state agencies for more than two decades. He has also managed state and national public affairs campaigns in support of a variety of different public issues.

Gene has served in varying capacities for presidential, gubernatorial and legislative campaigns.  He was appointed to serve on Governor-elect Phil Murphy’s Transition 2018 Team and has consistently been named to InsiderNJ’s Power 100, which ranks key players in New Jersey politics.

Gene has held positions in state government with the New Jersey Department of Treasury and the New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety. He is also a former columnist for NJBIZ, the state’s largest weekly business publication, where he regularly reported on legislative matters affecting the business community. He was named to Business News New Jersey’s “Who’s Who” list of the most influential businesspeople in New Jersey and awarded its distinguished “40 Top Business Leaders Under the Age of 40”.   He has lectured at the Eagleton Institute of Politics, Rutgers University and has provided commentary for numerous television news and public affairs programs.

Gene was a graduate Fellow at the Eagleton Institute of Politics, Rutgers University, where he earned a MA in political science with a professional concentration in public policy and also holds a BA in political science from the University of Massachusetts at Boston.
